Strategic Arms Control Efforts
Fissile Material Production Ban
This section covers discussions and negotiations in the CD and elsewhere
on a formal agreement to limit or end production of fissile materials
and deal with existing stockpiles. Data and Analysis subsections cover:
US fissile material programs, policies, and holdings, including production
of tritium and plutonium pit manufacturing; US-Russian joint fissile
materials disposition efforts, including joint US-Russian negotiations
and ongoing Cooperative Threat Reduction programs for fissile material
controls, fissile material disposition, and warhead dismantlement
in the Russian Federation; and developments related to control of
the nuclear fuel cycle and global nuclear fuel cycle programs.

Ban on Weapons in Outer Space
This section covers international efforts to prevent the weaponization
of space, with particular focus on efforts in the Conference on Disarmament,
UN General Assembly, and UN Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.
Three Data and Analysis subsections cover global developments related
to spacebased weapons, including national programs, dual-use (civilian-military)
technologies, private sector programs, and government-private collaboration.
In addition to space-based hardware, these programs may also include
sea-, ground-, or air-based facilities that could be used to support
space-based weapons systems.
